Grand Seiko Spring Drive Titanium Watch

Grand Seiko watches are based on a ‘modest’ goal of the Japanese watchmakers – they simply wanted to craft an ideal timepiece. The Grand Seiko Spring Drive Titanium watch is a modern version of that basic concept, with a pure artistic simplicity in design and the most sophisticated technology.

I've always loved the simple, yet elegant appearance of the Grand Seiko designs... especially the spring drives. It's the price point that has always kept me from buying one. Mid-to-upper 4 figures just is not doable.

1k and I would be all over this watch, unfortunately Seiko doens't have the prestige in the States to make me want to sell my left testi for this marvel of a watch movement. The movement IMO rivals just about anything Swiss has to offer in the under 5k category, unfortunately the Seiko cache, in the States at least, isn't enough to warrent the 4k> price tag for me.

I own a Seiko Sports that is +/-5 seconds a day and everytime someone inquires about it, they give me that, 'oh its a Seiko' line as if they are disappointed and seem to associate it with a $50 Sears watch. I could care less, because I only spent $135 for it, but if I spend anything over 2-3K for a watch, I at least expect a wow factor to justify the exorbitant price of it.
