Suggestions on 50mm watch brands?
Any help pointing me in the direction of some decent watch brands with models in the 50mm range would be appreciated!
I have a few Invictas (Corduba, Coalition, Viper) as well as an older Casio ana/digi diver, and a nice Swatch chrono, and some cheapies that manage to keep time but are mostly 36-38mm.
I like the bigger watches! It is hard to search by size on watch sites and auction sites, so any suggestions would be appreciated. No real preference on straps/bands, just a decent watch for the money. Chrono's are awesome, but not a requirement. The many pilot-style watches suggested in another thread were equally spectacular, but my budget will only allow for the occasional sub $300 watch.
So anyone that has a list of sub $300, 50mm + dials, with either Chrono function or pilot-style complications on the dial, clue me in! It may end up being a very short list, but thanks!

I could've guessed. Just another geek trying to compensate for inadequacies with a clownishly big watch.
I know, I know, I shouldn't feed the troll.

ahhh.... DitchDoc. I should have known that you wouldn't be able to resist taking a shot and making a 100% worthless and time-wasting post. If you have nothing to contribute, why waste your time posting that you have nothing to contribute?
and perhaps a wimpish girly-figured male such as yourself can't handle a larger watch. Some of us have no trouble at all with larger watches...of course, I can't fit into a "Little Miss" or "junior" size like you can, but then again, I am a grown man. Stick with those 32mm watches...on a 5-inch wrist like yours, you don't want to go much bigger.

Who's making the worthless post shill? Complete with baseless assumptions. I'm not the one that wants the cartoon watch. In fact, your request for info on 50mm watches speaks volumes about you. Don't worry. Nobody here is going to laugh at you for having a small penis.
Are you now going to make more worthless posts by telling me how big your muscles are or how much you bench press? You and your "angry inch" post away

Re: Suggestions on 50mm watch brands?
I'll offer up an effort at a straight answer but you may not like the results.
Go to Amazon, Select "Watches" as a category, leave the search field blank and hit "go". You'll get about 140,000 "hits" including approximately 62,000 identified as "men's" watches.
You'll then be able to filter the results by a number of criteria one of which is case size "50MM & Over".
It'll return roughly 2,000 watches.
Of these, Invicta is about 25% of the total.
SO and Swiss Legend are represented.
Diesel has some stuff for those that are not a slave to fashion
Casio has a pantload of multi-function that might sometimes actually make use of the 50mm.
Charles-Hubert has pocket watches.
I'd concur with Nixon - they are represented by 15 examples.
But overall the above "Amazon experiment" tends to drive home the point that larger timepieces remain well outside the mainstream. And, worldwide, sizes are trending downward. As one reporter put it "there will always be something for those wishing to wear a Hummer on their wrist" but the selection is, and will likely remain, sparse.
Claims of huge watches catching on, selling well and impacting every major manufacturer are just that: unfounded claims which can survive only in an isolated and heavily policed corner of the internet and a few random fast food emporiums. I've read the stuff and was reminded of Will Rogers: It's not that our friends over there are wrong - it's just that they know so much that isn't so.
Still, if you personally prefer larger watches 2,000 choices aren't bad - though it does dwindle to around 600 if TV brands are omitted and the results restricted to analog displays. Without TV brands the landscape is pretty bleak for Hummer watches.

Hawk, good post, you did the homework of what my rsponse was going to be. Contrary to what people like Mr. Temple :Live from Basel" are telling you, legitimate watch companies are not making 50mm watches, that is just plain fact. Larger watches are here to stay? Only in TV land.

Re: Suggestions on 50mm watch brands?
Thanks for the links, guys!
Is it the fact that a dial is 50mm that makes some of the morons so upset that they drool on their keyboards? I have never laughed so hard in my life!
Can someone tell these retards to look in the watch bible and see where it says that a watch has to under 48mm in order to be a legitimate watch? Can someone point me to the correct chapter and verse?
In all honesty, I also laugh because I have seen some of these guys trying to wear a 50mm watch, and it ain't pretty...and it ain't funny...but it IS pretty funny. It must be some sort of inferiority complex, based on their little tiny wrists. For them, wearing a 50mm would be like having them try to walk around in size 22 shoes. They'd just sort of look stupid, and people would point and laugh at them.
I can feel their pain. but I still laugh at them. Poor kids. They were the last ones picked for kick-ball, laughed at because they wear the same size clothes as their girlfriends, and now they have a little cyber-lil-boys-club so they can yell names at people who can wear larger watches than them. Fair is fair, I guess!
Oh and 32771: fat comments? really? ROFL
why not go ahead and call my mom names? You are a pathetic little man.

Re: Suggestions on 50mm watch brands?
..and DitchDoc...
I can only wonder why my posts have been 100% related to watches and watch styles, and you immediately post comments about my penis.
Is it penis-envy? do you assume that since I prefer large watches, that my penis might be equally in proportion? Do you wonder that your predeliction towards my penis is not natural, and in fact may be an indication that you have homosexual tendencies? Did you intend to have the screen name DitchDic, itchmydick, or something close, but were too afraid to come out of your closet?
I don't know any of those answers, but I am married and straight. While I am somewhat flattered by your attention to my penis, I must politely dissuade your interest and suggest you hunt elsewhere. You are just not my type. Now vamoose, you lil closet man-lover!

Quiet the opposite Shill.
Please point out in my previous post where I mention your tiny penis. In fact, I asked you 3 questions. None of which you answered in your "I wish somebody would think about my penis" post. Could it be because 2 of them are true? Leaving only one.....
What's your mom's number?

No worries, DitchDic.
People always gravitate to their most comfortable levels. You may have over-shot yours, as 8th grade was probably your greatest life challenge. But it was 3 years of your best work, right?

You keep mentioning 50mm dial which would make a 50mm case seem small by comparison. Not even Invicta makes many 50mm dial watches.

I must say, you certainly are an odd bird tshilling. Not only based on your penchant for drawing abuse from others . . . but posting a request for help in finding a brand featuring a 50mm dial. Most folks with taste running along those lines are already tuned and locked in on the offending manufacturers of such.
But, to each their own I suppose. You may hit the sales board at WUS . . . I see a lot of WG's fire-saleing "value pay items of regret" there quite often.

No, no need to talk about your mom. Not my style. You can change your weight if you put the effort into it. Remember, you didn't just wake up one day a fatso. It'll take effort, but I believe in you.
But, if you are just lazy, these are my parting words: "stay husky my friend."

Wow....just wow. I mean...wow.
I've sat back and read the two tshilling threads and I'm just floored.
First off, Mr. TS, you can't call active veteran members of a website "trolls"; that shows you don't have the foggiest clue about things on blogs. You read a word and now you're using it in an attempt to fit in somewhere. Sad.
Secondly, to say you've read this site and then your first attempt at a thread is to bring on a subject that brought on watch blogs arguments only about five years ago, and you're only posting to get a reaction. "Which 50mm watch should I buy"? What is this, Highlights For WIS?
I've so had it with the WG mentality that I want to hurl. Just turn your fucking ShopNBC on and and press "buy" and leave people who are serious about watches the fuck alone. Good heavens.
Oh, sorry. I wrote a curse word or two.
Now go fuck yourself.

I'll repeat this just because I feel like it and there are new members here that may not be aware of this.
While there is a fashion aspect to the move to large watches (Invicta IS a fashion brand), the prime motivation is economics.
It is well known that smaller watch movements and cases cost more to build and assemble. (Doubt me? Google or search europstar.com) This is because the machine work must be finer, i.e. less crude, and requires labor that is more highly skilled. These factors add expense to watches.
This is, in part, why women's watches have normally cost more than a gent's watch of the same model - though there are also economies of scale involved.
Do your homework.
You'll discover Eyal Lalo, his new butt boi Tim "The Engine" Temple and the other hucksters are shoving shit down your throat.
