Still trying with Tuna

This crystal is so domed, I cannot figure out how to get a good shot. Any suggestions?

Black background and no direct light - only ambient. I like the looks of that case and crystal but aesthetically - I'm annoyed by a crown that's not centered or clears the wrist. Years ago, I picked up an automatic "St. Moritz" whose case looked identical to a Ventura that I always liked rounded case with a rounded mineral crystal that followed the lugs. Same deal with the crown. I still have it but never weqr it.

Very difficult to get a shot of a domed crystal without reflections or distortion. Distortion shows up on all the low angle shots because the crystal is domed so steeply. Straight on hard to not have a reflection of either yourself, the camera, or the light source.
Try taking pictures outside with natural light but not direct overhead light. Also, depending on what type of camera you are using you might try a circular polarizing filter. These are used to reduce reflections when taking pictures of water, etc. A simple substitute would be to hold some type of tinted film in front of the camera lens. Good luck, if you do find something that works well let us know.

Okay, I looked at the pictures again. I like it a lot. Personally, I'd swap out the band for a thick, smooth rubber strap or a rubber rally. Wave straps remind me of the old, late 80s cheap digital "dive" watches.

You are out of your cotton-pickin' mind Skills'.....Pleated straps fucking rule. I have them on just about everything I own. Blasphemy right there.

I know the feeling AH. I have yet to capture my Tuna for others to marvel as I see it. As such I only have 2 wrist shots and don't really like either one.

Consider that very often the reflections are a primary characteristic of the watch. Instead of trying to avoid them, embrace and use them to enhance the aesthetics of the shot.

I find shots with some reflections to appear more natural, as real life is not reflection free. The way a watch reflects light is integral to its personality IMO. This may be especially true for the Tuna.

AH picture 1 shows how good they look with a heavy case. The pleat gives rubber straps a look of strength that isn't exhibited by smooth rubber straps.

Nice pics guys. The Tuna is undoubtedly the most BadAss of the Seiko Diver family. I'd love to have one some day.
