Complaint About: INVICTA WATCH GROUP


Thank you for bringing your consumer concerns to the attention of the Financial Fraud/Consumer Protection Section of the Oregon Department of Justice. Often it is through letters, such as yours, that we are alerted to consumer problems that may affect many other citizens.

We have written to the business and we have requested a response regarding your complaint. In the event that our office pursues an action on behalf of the public at large against the company, it sometimes takes many months to reach a resolution.

My complaint about Invicta Watch Group:

They sell sucky, overhyped watches to people that are seemingly defenseless against lying bullshitters on CableTV.

I put MY COMPLAINT on the INTERWEBZ!

where is the actual complaint letter?

MD will be their acting attorney.

I like this part where all they are doing is just requesting a response in regards to the complaint. If you read between the lines its just a form letter they send out to appease the complainant and all they need to do is insert a file number, insert who the complaint is about and hit send.

Good luck but ... I really don't think the State of Oregon is going to do anything.

As much as it pains me to say this, I believe you are spot on in this case. Unless charges are brought up, it's going to be a simple form letter and response dance.

I wouldn't bet against him either, matter of fact I wouldn't bet for him as well.

No offense to Koi but there are allot on this site who are riding his coattails letting him do everything to battle the evil foe IWG. Why don't some of you get up and do the same thing he is doing, complain to your local states and get the ball rolling there as well. Just think of it if there were 5 or 10 or 15 or 20 other states all looking into the same complaints against IWG it could and possibly might help Koi's complaint in Oregon.

So who is going to go the same route as he and make formal complaints to there States and stand with him instead of behind him watching him do it all.

To be honest I have no complaints about Invicta, I was smart enough not to fall for the majority of there crap. I came to the IWG party later than some and was never sipped the yellow kool-aid to the point that so many did.

I know exactly what I bought when I bought the Invicta's I own and I am happy with the Ocean Ghosts and the few Pro Divers I have from Invicta so exactly why would I file a complaint when I can't honestly say I have something to complain about.

Oh yeah I could and say that I am on the bandwagon to save the world from the evils of Eyal Lalo and the great IWG but to be honest, if somebody is dumb enough to fully believe and listen to everything they are told on a home shopping channel they, well as somebody once said ya just can't fix toopid.

The complaint is not limited to one transaction. It is a blanket complaint with facts to back it up.

1. Sandstone dials - lab results, video by shop and sales lit.

2. Fake diamonds ( same thing as above)

3. Swiss movements ( photos of chinese movements) and several actual watches I purchased just to photograph and use for evidence.

4. Dubois Fiasco. Tv claims, sales lit and all of the emails and forum posts from WG.

5. Mold in boxes. I purchased one after hearing about this, it had mold, photographed it and sent it back. Evidence provided that neither the states nor feds were notified.

6. SWISS made watches and the Seiko claims (hi beat) were also added to the complaint.

Yes Koi it is a blanket complaint but jut exactly how many of them were you a victim of. You just admitted you bought one because of the mold just so you could photograph it and send it back.

Ya know I would hate to see that statement used as some sort of evidence they could use to defend themselves saying you knowingly did things just so you could bolster your complaints so possibly you might want to change or delete that bullet point in your post.

I know for a fact more than a few of us here have contacted not only ShopNBC, the FTC, area press, and other people in the watch industry about IWG's transgressions - we just don't make a big power play out of it until hard results are achieved. This ain't WGs, where they want to have a parade when they unleash the rare TTV that doesn't result in mass returns.

To me, IWG is as bad as multi-level marketing companies and late night infomercial con men. Frankly, anyone who would question reporting the clear facts about what the company does is either a corporate apologist or a fan boi in sheep's clothing.

Well I'm glad that you did all that but did you get any responses back from anybody that they even assigned a file number to your complaints?

there is nothing wrong with what koi did...he made that purchase to see the mold for himself rather than have to resort to heresay.

Unfortunately, unless you were personally duped into buying these whorealogical treasures, you have no standing for any civil action.

Good luck with getting the Attorney General fired up about a dopey TV watch brand sold on an equally dopey CableTV sales channel, neither of which being located in your state, I'm afraid you won't see much satisfaction, but I CERTAINLY hope I'm wrong...

You'll never know if the effort is'nt made. That said, we know how well Invicta responds to BBB complaints. If not legally compelled to do so, they (Invicta) will likely do nothing at all.

Interesting to see the responses here. I spent 3 hours with a team of investigators, not just one, on this. I do not have to be duped. I am establishing with the State that Invicta has a long history of misrepresenting watches, what goes into them, what they are made of, country of origin and the like. They have 14 videos, 5 watches and over 400 pages of evidence including lab reports, statements made by Eyal himself which were lies and information from the Swiss Federation.

With this said, there are two other brands sold at shop which are currently under investigation in the land of cheese for their claims of Swissness. Another company which is a third party watch maker is also being investigated. Those are facts straight from the horses' mouth.

People can gripe all they want but until they get off their asses nothing will be done.

Yes they do and it does not matter. The fact that is was sold as real sandstone for a while is all that matters. Each fake sandstone dial sold during the timeframe prior to being compelled by Watchlords to come clean is a count against them. The goes for anything they sold which was not as described.

Alain, what are you going to do when Oregon just closes the file and does nothing.

One person doing something is much, much better than no one doing anything. Some make light of it but one can hardly be comfortable with a evidence-based complaint filed against them with a enforcement agency. In any case, I wouldn't want someone as persistant as Koi on my ass.
