The man posting below knew Jim Skelton here in Oregon. He is very familiar with the man or the myth, depending on what story you believe.Recently skelton on his show DENIED TROLLING Knife Forums while he was recovering from major/minor surgery. Skelton, Proof is in the pudding. The thread link is 9 pages long. You raised quite a stink there and the Blade forums with the same crap.

Folks, I AM one of the people who knows about Jim Skelton's past. Jim Skelton is a con man. He is also a self-centered, self-aggradizing, and self-important jackass. As one of his former employers once said, Jim wants all of the success with none of the work.

Jim Skelton has been a liar for many, many years now. From when he worked in a cigar shop in Florida, to when he came west to Oregon, to when he went back east to Virginia.

He has conned, lied, and outright stolen money from more people than you can shake a stick at. Fortunately I was never foolish enough to lend this asshole money. I could only witness what he did while he was here in Oregon which was to take loans from people he conned and never paid back, steal cigars that were donated by cigar manuafacturers and then sell them online, skip out rent owed to an aprtment complex, and god knows about that car. Was it ever repo'd Jim or did you sell it and never pay them back either?

And then there was Bruce Story and his wife who you bilked out of thousands of dollars on a co-signed loan. (This was before everyone was on to him). Yes folks, she co-signed a loan (or was it a lease), Jim skipped town, and left them in the lurch.

Jim has not changed. He is still an evil, lying, scum that deserves anything bad that happens to him. I would not believe anything Jim Skelton says. His entire life and personna is a complete fabrication designed to make himself look important to others so he can live some shell of a life that he wishes he truly had.

If anyone wants the true lowdown on this scum, they need only go so far as the forums at cigarfamily.com. You'll find plenty of threads inthe archives, and plenty of FOG's still around who can tell you about how he ripped people off.

You can run, but you can't hide Jim Skelton / Corona Gorda / Fatecrush.

Wow. I must say that the above cigar family thread has more stuff in it than even I was aware of. Defaulting on a co-signed loan? Everything I had garnered from another cigar site a few years ago, was stolen box-passes and collecting donations so he could move to Virginia. I am very surprised that SNBC would hire a guy with such a high risk background.

Skelton is telling the truth about some of this. He DOES have to deal with it because he is in the public eye. Otherwise, he'd just be an UNKNOWN grifter hated by those a handful of people he scammed. Now he's scamming MILLIONS and is nearly infamous.

I didn't get to see them. Does that mean I'm not his pal? That makes him a bad guy to me.

We cannot confirm these claims but They keep coming up even to this day. We do not endorse the claims but since Jim Skelton is a PUBLIC FIGURE and he had confirmed this himself in Knife forums, the public may find these of interest. From the same thread. It is of note that recently at a knife forum Jim Skelton claimed on air he had not trolling at :roll: , he mentioned all of this was rumor, people were out to get him and this was at least 10 years ago. Some of these are 3 years old or less.

OK, I hate posting on any threads having to do with this jerk-off, but some s#%t needs to be stated here.

First off all, and with no disrespect to Bruce (who got screwed far worse than anyone by Jim), Bruce was NOT the first person, or the only person to get screwed by Jim. Other CFers got jobbed by him, several of whom posted here at the time (or soon after the fact). Jim used his relationships here at CF to screw people out of their money or smokes, more so than Boot or Terbacky or any of the more renonowned scumbags ever did.

I know for a fact that he STILL owes Roy Seeman (RoyS), Jancascade and George H. (GBaker) money at this point. I count all three as close friends and all three were well respected, active members of this forum at the time Jim rooked them. Maybe not the high-profile, in crowd type that Bruce was at the time, but good folks who had done a lot here nonetheless. Jim, I know for a fact, still owes all of them (in Roy's case a couple of grand).

When Gary first "outed" Jim's new position a while back, a series of e-mails filtered through Padron Slave (and through myself) from Jim vaguely mentioning Jim attempting to pay Roy back. At least Bruce got something, Jim never heard back from Jim. None of the west coast folks did. In total he owes them several grand. Not a guess here, this is fact.

Moreover, he is known to have stolen quite a bit that was donated to an event he helped organize, items that were supposed to go towards raising money for charity. Those items were donated by Xikar, Padron and the very hosts of THIS FORUM! Not to mention that many of the locals here were manipulated into covering for him until after he left the area. Oh, and anyone who was involved in Jim's little t-shirt scam also got bilked by him, no as much as others, but Jim was always equal opportunity in screwing people over. Thats right - If you have an FU2K shirt, Jim got you, maybe more than once (sadly first hand experience there).

When it was first revealed that the thieving bastard was hocking watches on TV, I asked several people on these boards, privately, if some sort of contact with ShopNBC should be made and if perhaps that buisness would like to know some of the history of someone they had chosen to make one of the public faces of their show. I was discouraged in doing this by most people, with the primary reason given being that if he DID lose his job because of this that the good people he bilked would NEVER get their money back, and that we should all (myself included) hold off until we saw if the attempts were genuine. Well, there was only one attempt, it was not genuine, and many folks are still out their money. All those people he screwed over are still screwed, no apology or remorse and the man is still a con man. Frankly, I applaud Simmich for going after the f#$ker and hope anyone who can think of a good, legit way to do so will apply their considerable skills to thr matter of brining this cheat down.

Just my two cents (but a lot of other folks' hard earned cash),

been suggested several times in the last couple of weeks and while tempting, our tried and proven way provides entertainment and a learning experience for them. If they last then they can be valuable members of the forum whether they argee with some say or not. This is not a forum meant for yes men such as exist at WG and elsewhere. We may not all agree but I have always thought most of us could handle an opposing view, like them or not.

As to the fawning WG defenders, so be it. They stand and defend their positions as well do or they melt away. Facts instead of arguements ala desertrex and his ilk would serve them better here.

If someone owed me a couple grand, I'd get my money. Unless it's not that important to the individuals, I fail to see how they haven't resolved this yet. A simple plane ticket, rental car, a few meals, and the money or equivalent value of merchandise + expenses would be had, plain and simple. I'm guessing the individuals do not wish to push the matter and that's their choice.
