Help With a Waltham Empty Help With a Waltham

Post by Guest Fri Mar 09, 2012 6:27 pm

I have a Waltham from around 1873 if my number search is to be believed and the movement is an PS Bartlett. It doesnt work sadly, needs some TLC...anyone know a good place to have the watch rehabbed? Is it even worth it? Needs a new crystal too. It was my Grandfathers...he picked it up at a flea market. So no real sentimental value. Would like to get it running if I can get it cheap or otherwise its a paper weight.

Waltham was one of America's biggest watchmakers way back then, meaning there's a lot of these laying around. Apart from sentimental value, there's usually not much point in getting the thing restored--the resale price generally ain't worth the cost of the restore.
