Dove basically the same site during the morning and then at night today and it was interesting to see the different types of critters at the different times. Water temp was 17C, each dive around an hour at 10m. The camera equipment I am still learning to use: Panasonic DMC LX-5 camera (manual mode in raw format), 10BAR 90m aluminum dive housing, Ikelite tray and arms, Sea&Sea YS-1 strobe. I took the Seiko MM300 on BFK rubber on both dives...IMO the quintessential dive watch.

I agree with all of the above--it's nice to see dive watches being used as they were designed.

Some of those fish look like good eatin', too.

The orange ones with the big fan fin display are Lionfish. They are predators and not native to this region and have little competition, so people are being encouraged to take them. The dorsal spines are neurotoxic though...so you need to spear them and clean those off. Apparently they are then really good eating.

I was being, as usual, a total asshole, Carl; but if you want to cook up some of those fish and get back to us, more power to you.

Doesn't it wake the fish when you pop that big 'ol flash at 'em at night?

Looks like you got the new rig, whatever it is. Nice pics.

Most of them are awake and swimming around. The dark velvet-look fish with yellowish fins and blue eyes was completely asleep though...his tail is just hanging off the edge of the rock.

Just saw this thread and the pictures. Beautiful as usual. Definitely stokes my desire to pick up this hobby, although I am sure any coastline near me is not this nice, or this clear. Thank you for sharing.

No worries.

I'm off to Exmouth next week for a solid week of dives. The water is not bad here in Fremantle but Exmouth is another level all together.
