Beware!! None of these VE movements have a quick change date.
If you let the waTch stop and you're not near the correct date when you want to wear it again you will have to manually ( 8PM to 2 AM and back to 8PM - reprat as needed) change the date.
A royal PITA!!
It's why I only own one Russian-I really think they're trying to punish us for getting to the moon first. Otherwise they surely could have figured out the qick change date by now!!

I had one I really liked but got rid of it for that very reason.

The Vostoks aren't bad, GN; I've owned a couple, and my wife still owns a Red Square I got for her from Russia2all. The non-quickset date is a hassle, no doubt, but as far as I know, all the Russian movements have this same deal.
Some of the Russian stuff is very cool; however, I don't think they're the best around, especially compared to the Swiss. I owned a few, including some of the Poljot 3133 mechanical chronos. Unfortunately, some of the Russian watches are very high-priced, and in my opinion, not worth the money. The more modestly priced watches are still cool, and can be a decent value.

Crap IMHO, cased in China, made in Lithuania not Russia not a true Russian watch anymore, aside from the pain to change the date stated by foggy , they do not hack either.... bumped a bit and the crystal will fall ( a la Invicta)Vostok Europe is a different company from Vostok Russia, Vostok supplies movements to Vostok Europe, those are typically Vostok 2416 movements with 31 and 32 jewels auto (crude movements by any standards) and Vostok Europe cased , assembly and do sales outside of RussiaGEEKNOMO wrote:This will be my first russian watch. is the movement in this watch worth a shit? are these watches worth a shit?

"using only 100% Russian-made movements"........"all hand assembled in Vilnius, Lithuania"..............nothing noted on face or case back.........most of the movement is unviewable. and it was 327 shipped............eh, I like the looks, we shall see on the time keeping........it will HAVE to be stored in a winder if I keep it.........
