I'd rather have the Elvis embalming tools and toe tag that are being auctioned off in Chicago on Aug. 12

I'm liking that nostalgia.

I tried one on while in the bay area and I like it. Different than the norm so it is on the future by list for me.

One of the (very) few Hamiltons I don't like.

My wife is an avid Elvis collector...I for see this watch in the future...all though I'm not thrilled with it.

I actually tried this one on in New York City. It has some real heft to it! Both my wife and myself are huge Ventura (and Electric) fans; I've always called the Elvis model the Ventura On Peanut Butter & Banana Sandwiches - it's way bigger than most Venturas. (If you know Elvis, you'll know why I said that).

Do I like it? My jury is still out, to be honest. I like the way it looks..it felt funny...a little cumbersome. Love the guts though, and the quality is really first rate, as it usual with Hamilton.

A late addition/question:

koi, do you own any Venturas? I think the greatest gift I've ever gotten my wife as a women's sized new Ventura this past Christmas that Ashford.com was just GIVING away; she'd waited literally years to get one. I'm kinda nutty for it's retro "Jetsons" styling as well.

I do have one somewhere. It belonged to my uncle John who gave it to me years ago. I have to find it. It is one of the electic models. I really do like the syling of the Ventura. Seiko I think had a similar model out at one time.

Seiko DOES have a similar style watch and the only place I can find it currently - get ready for this one - is through the Sears and Kmart websites. I'm not kidding. It sells for about $320 and it has a look not too far from a Ventura.

I'm pretty sure that the Seiko "assymetrical" design was never really popular.

And if it weren't for EP the Ventura would have tanked too!

Assymetrical is a marketing term to distract from the fact that some watches are lopsided.

I'm with you. I think most variations of the Ventura are just groovin'. The watch never dies; it's been in production for so long that it has to be considered a classic.
