Open challenge to Eyal Lalo - Man Up or Shut Up

Post by boscoe on Mon Sep 27, 2010 1:08 pm

"We also produced military watches for Switzerland during the war."
That's a direct quote from an interview Eyal Lalo gave about Invicta's history and his family's involvement with the brand.
I can not find an Invicta (or Seeland) branded watch produced for the Swiss military during the World War 2 era.
I call bullshit - and challenge Eyal "Russian Diver" Lalo to back this up.
If he proves me wrong, I'll donate to an Invicta charity.

boscoe,

I admire your stance like crazy. However, asking such sterling "businessmen" such as Lalo, Davis, and Skelton to do anything that...honest? Well, remember the initial D/D Speedway FUBAR? They just hid. Then they tap danced. Then.....nothing, at least not publicly.

Bosc, you know what the real story is already - and I'm sure you realize that two things will happen: Lalo won't acknowlege your challenge, but as he did with koi, Skelton will make an "insider" passing "funny" comment on one of his IWG shows that "I like Nestle's Quick, but I don't like Boscoe."

Just you wait. After all, that's how professional businessmen and media members conduct themselves.

Amateurs.

Wehrmacht issued WWII wrist watches were manufactured by many Swiss and German watch makers contracted by the German government. They are manually wound and most often have screw-on stainless steel case backs, are/were shock/water resistant and had a nickel plated brass (sometimes steel) watch case. The dial face was black with luminous (radium, long faded) numbers and hands with a sub seconds dial. Variations will be encountered including snap-on case backs for the German made watches. The watch case diameter will range about 34mm.

A common interpretation of the 'D' code is that it stands for Dienstuhr "Service Watch" taken together 'DH would mean Service Watch Army (Heer). Soldier's pay book records indicate that the 'D code referred to the service branch that contracted for the watches. There is evidence that 'DH coded watches were also issued to Luftwaffe personel and possibly other service organizations.

DH: Dienstuhr Heer D: Dienstuhr Luftwaffe DRGM: Deutsches Reich Gebrauchsmuster

RLM: Reichsluftfahrtministerium KM: Kriegsmarine DU: Dienstuhr (Verwaltung)

A partial list of the various Swiss & German contractors are;

Arsa, Büren, BWC, Choisi, Civitas, Edo, Freco, Gala, Glycine, Grana, Helbro, Helios, Helma, Helvetia, Longines, Mimo, Minerva, Moeris, Moser, Mulco, Nisus, Phenix, Record, Recta, Revue, Stabila, Titus, Zenith, General Watch&Co, Grana, Hado, Förster Pforzheim, Gustonia, Flora, Acacia, Bulla, Era, Onda, Onsa, Alpina, Siegerin, Pronto, Monitor, Stowa, Tritona, Wagner, Aeschbach, Para, Berg, Nila, Omega, Natalia, Wempe, Geering, Bidlingmaier, Speck, Vogele, Wiemer, Tutima, Hanhart, Zentra, Selza, Aristo, Lemania, Titus, Breitling, IWC, Roamer, Rellum

He specifically said for the "Swiss," which in Lalo-speak could equal Nazi.
If so, that would stick in his craw - as it would mine if my firm were associated with the Third Reich

Way to put yourself out there Boscoe and stand up to the liar. Its a succinct straight forward challenge that many will see. Cant hurt to shine a light on Eyal Lalo's shameless publicized bullshit.

I'll up the ante $1,000! Must be for the Swiss military - not the Germans, Italians, Russians or US - per his quote. His grandma's say-so ain't good enough. He can either point me to a watch, museum or bona fide source.
I will pay up.
Not bullshitting.
Call my bluff

The Swiss Army? Now there is a battle tested horological achievement. hahaha
