No, not particularly interested in what some actor wears - or sports figure - or musician.

No influence on what I like, or wear.
I might regret admitting this, but I find myself focusing on the watches and trying to see if I can determine at least the mfg., and perhaps the model. I once accidentally stumbled across a porn video and noticed the lead actor was wearing a Breitling.

Yes. The primary influence being curiosity over what they are wearing and do I like it or not. Secondary would be emulation - to somehow feel like the character by virtue of owning something they had. Silly I know, and only James Bond qualifies here.

Some have caused me to step frame by frame to identify them. Others have sent me on the hunt. Personally believe emulation plays a large role in what we decide to purchase (watches or otherwise), whether we see it in a movie or elsewhere.

Omega PO ("Casino Royale" - Daniel Craig) - Purchased
Sector 600 ("Wild Hogs" - Martin Lawrence) - Purchased
Panerai Luminor Daylight ("The Transporter" - Jason Statham ) - In my dreams
Citizen Ana-Digi Diver ("Shooter" - Michael Peña) - Faded and moved on

To name a few.

Curiosity? Yes.

Influence? No.

When I see one I try to see what it is just for the heck of it, but it has zero bearing on my opinion of a watch brand or on what I purchase.

It does not make me buy, but I have looked up the Oris also after seeing Constantine because it is such a blatant blatant product placement shot in the movie.

I wonder what these brands pay for the placement in the movies. In the new movie source code there are at least 5 full screen long shots of the newer model Swiss Army watch the main character is wearing. I imagine they must have paid a lot for the exposure.

I admit I always look to see if I can identify what the lead charachters are wearing. Do I buy various watches becuase of this? No. Most I couldn't afford anyway, but it's neat to see what is out there.

Oh, and here's a cool Site in case you're interested in this.

Whats crazy is a friend of mine is friends with John Travolta and when I mentioned I loved his Navigators he wears, she told him and he said hes lucky that Breitling gives him FREE watches because thats all he wears and advertises since hes a pilot! He said he owns over 50! I told her to tell him to hook me up with one if he gets them for free!

Sorry, a mis-spelling on my part. Im not an avid Breitling follower, just tried to remember the name since I saw it in a magazine and liked the styling. A mis-spelling makes me full of shit?
