Survival Straps? Empty Survival Straps?

Anyone have experience with these? Thoughts? I like the looks and I'm betting they are comfortable.

I saw one in a movie with Stone Cold Steve Austin and didn't know what the shit it was until he unraveled it to do some ass kicking...

I've seen these before and IMHO they are ugly as hell and most likey still suffer from severe strapstink if worn as an "active" strap. Sweat is sweat . Metal and rubber are my choices for straps that will be worn in any "sweating" situations. Great for those who deskercize.

I was thinking about strapping this on my Coalition Forces for my next trip into the bush. I have a problem to solve with my MI-5 team.

Can I get one to go with my D ring keychain, Northface shell, trail bike, and Subaru Outback with a R E I bumper sticker? Looks pseudo outdouchey to me.

Oddly enough, I do have one of their bracelets, not a watch strap. It is so many yards of heavy duty parachute cord. I keep it in my backpack should I ever need it, kind of like I keep a roll of parachute cord in my kayak as well. Never really used it but it's still there when I pack up for a hike. Or I should say I wear it on all my covert stealth tactical missions...yeah that's it. I'd tell you guys about them sometime but then I'd have to kill you.

I kind of like the look of them. An alternative to a Nat/Zulu I suppose. Fog's pobably right about the sweat factor though. Thing could end up smelling like balls after a while.

Like I said, I've never worn mine but I imagine it could be washed with no ill effects-provided you take it off the watch first.

Neat idea, for its intended emergency purpose... Personally, If I wanted this item for emergency purposes I would go for the bracelet version, not the watch strap. Then again I would just keep some cord in my vehicle, hiking pack, or tied to my belt, depending on the situation.

Unless I'm missing something, I assume when unraveled you lose the ability to wear the watch.

I have one of these straps but not for a watchband. the one I have is a band only. they are very sturdy and I have received compliments re it.
I'm not sure if I would want one as a watch band but that is just my personal taste. It surely would last and do the job if that is what you would like to do.
